Paris Mirifique Paris Mirifique explores photography as a sculptural medium. Although clearly fashioned from the visible world, another world materialises within the images. Predispositions regarding inanimate objects are jettisoned by a sudden absence of gravity. The building collapses into life: stretching, retracting, folding in on itself both physically and metaphorically. Vaults and crests form and deform into warped contours. Skin touches itself in new ways, at new angles. Lace balconies fall into your arms. An otherwise static tension is replaced by a rhythmic one: curving, digressing, wandering across the flowing surfaces. The simultaneous effect is of giddiness and balance.
